SkyTime for poetry! This is the second in my series of poems inspired by the Tao Te Ching. (The first one is here.)

Happiness Meditation Poem – An Undisturbed Mind

Rejection cannot disturb me.
Abandonment cannot.
Aloneness cannot.
I can only disturb myself.

Setbacks cannot disturb me.
Traffic jams cannot.
Hurdles cannot.
I can only disturb myself.

This the sage knows:
Happiness is a flower that blossoms naturally
    in the fertile soil
    of an undisturbed mind.

I have decided that

I shall not disturb myself
Ever again,

And, then, I shall watch what grows.
